Background
An established Equipment Hire and Hauling company in Zambia invites qualified and experienced technical professionals to join its dedicated team. Focused on maximising fleet efficiency, maintaining reliable equipment, and minimising downtime, this organisation offers multiple full-time positions across various engineering and maintenance disciplines.
Role Objective
Enhance workforce productivity and equipment uptime by effectively planning and coordinating labour, parts, materials, and equipment access.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and detailed work packages.
- Coordinate equipment downtime with production schedules to minimise disruption.
- Plan and monitor maintenance activities for upcoming weeks and oversee execution.
- Schedule annual overhauls and plant shutdowns.
- Conduct plant inspections, supervise maintenance tasks, and perform safety analyses.
- Manage spare parts inventory, including ordering and setting reorder levels.
- Assist with budgeting and control equipment life-cycle costs.
- Ensure maintenance aligns with OEM standards and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and provide on-site technical support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Craft Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Registration with EIZ and ERB.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance or engineering roles within mining, earthworks, or construction.
- Experience in supervisory or leadership positions.
- Familiarity with Engineering Maintenance Management Systems.
