The HR Compensation & Benefits Specialist will provide expert advisory support in designing, implementing, and continuously improving competitive, equitable, and financially sustainable remuneration practices.

This strategic role focuses on job evaluation, reward structures, salary positioning, incentives, benefits, and compensation analytics, playing a crucial part in attracting, motivating, and retaining top talent. Key Responsibilities for HR Compensation Benefits Specialist Jobs in Solwezi Support the development and execution of the Kansanshi Total Rewards Strategy aligned with business priorities.

Provide specialist advice on job evaluation, grading, and reward architecture to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. Participate in remuneration surveys and benchmark pay positioning against external market data to identify compensation risks and opportunities.

Develop and maintain salary structures, analyze pay positioning, and support annual salary reviews and merit processes. Assist in designing and reviewing short- and long-term incentive schemes that promote business performance, safety, and desired behaviours.

Advise on critical skills and retention rewards for scarce and leadership talent, aligning with retention strategies. Review employee benefits for competitiveness and effectiveness, recommending improvements based on employee needs and market trends.

Support budgeting and financial modelling for compensation proposals, ensuring commercial sustainability in partnership with Finance. Address mining-specific reward considerations such as shift arrangements, site conditions, and workforce localisation.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders including HR leadership, Finance, and operational teams, as well as external consultants and providers. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.

Professional HR qualification or membership in a recognised body such as ZIHRM. Specialist certification in Compensation & Benefits, Reward Management, Job Evaluation, or HR Analytics is advantageous.

Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in compensation, reward management, or HR analytics. Proven expertise in job evaluation, salary structure design, market benchmarking, incentive schemes, and benefits management.

Experience within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational environments is highly desirable. Technical and Behavioural Competencies Proficient in total rewards management, compensation benchmarking, financial modelling, and HR data analytics.

Strong skills in job evaluation, incentive design, benefits management, pay equity analysis, and reward survey analysis. Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrates strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical judgement, and confidentiality. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, consulting, and problem-solving abilities.
