Role Overview and Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Specialist, Condition Monitoring, the successful candidate will execute and coordinate predictive maintenance activities on fixed plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and optimized operations.
This role includes technical expertise in vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, and other condition monitoring methods. Additionally, the Specialist will lead the Lubrication Team and the Conveyor & Chutes Inspection Team, ensuring all tasks meet safety and quality standards.
The position also involves acting as team lead during the Senior Analyst’s absence.
Safety, Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure all condition monitoring, lubrication, and inspection tasks comply with site safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations.
Condition Monitoring Execution:
- Perform vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil sampling, and visual inspections.
- Diagnose equipment conditions, raise maintenance requests, and support root cause failure analysis.
Lubrication Team Leadership:
- Supervise lubrication technicians, verify lubricant specifications, oversee oil sampling, and maintain contamination control standards.
Conveyor & Chutes Inspection Team Leadership:
- Manage conveyor belt and chute inspections, monitor wear trends, report findings, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Acting Lead Responsibilities:
- Coordinate team activities, review findings, approve work requests, and provide technical guidance during senior staff absence.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed monitoring and lubrication reports, update CMMS data, and track key performance indicators.
Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend enhancements for condition-based maintenance strategies, lubrication practices, and inspection processes, including training support for junior staff.
- Candidate Profile for Condition Monitoring Specialist Jobs in Kalumbila We seek candidates with advanced condition monitoring skills and a proven track record in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong diagnostic capabilities, leadership experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in condition monitoring for fixed plant equipment such as mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Proficiency in vibration analysis (CAT II minimum), thermography (CAT I advantage), ultrasound (CAT I advantage), and oil analysis (CAT I minimum).
- Expertise in lubrication best practices, contamination control, and predictive maintenance data analysis.
- Experience supervising teams and managing maintenance or inspection activities.
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office, CMMS (e.g., Pronto), SCADA, OSIsoft PI, and industrial databases.
- Familiarity with reliability methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, and MTA.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a safety-first mindset.
- Qualifications Engineering Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline.
- Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
- Advanced certifications in condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques are highly advantageous.
- Leadership or supervisory training is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with at least 12 months driving experience.
