About the project 

The Participatory Agriculture and Climate Transformation (PACT) Programme aims to support the development of alternative sources of energy by reducing pressure on the biomass resources (vegetation cover) through substitution of improved energy saving stoves and planned to distribute cooking stoves for households who live in project areas. Women and children are the primary beneficiaries. 

Job Summary 

The PACT program, which Vita plans to implement using the Community-Led Total Stove approach, will distribute 91,200 improved cooking technologies to 45,600 households. Each household will receive two stoves, one Mirt and one Efoy. Under a cluster structure, the project will be carried out over a three-year period in six regions comprising 24 woredas chosen from the regions of Southern Ethiopia, Oromia, Amhara, Central Ethiopia, Southwest Ethiopia, and Sidama. In order to enable geographical clustering of woredas and guarantee efficient and effective project management and administration, the woredas were chosen based on Vita's current geographic coverage as well as their proximity to one another. Therefore, the prospective candidate focuses on  In particular s/he will be responsible for the achievements of the MRV related objectives that ensures quality surveys, assessment and control of field level MRV tasks as per the Gold Standard requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely Gold Standard (GS) surveys, needs assessments, and related quantitative data analysis.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality monthly CO₂ Balance checkpoint reports.
  • Conduct quarterly project monitoring visits to project implementation sites.
  • Assist with the verification, validation, and submission of survey data in accordance with established standards.
  • Collaborate with the MRV Officer to ensure that Gold Standard MRV methodologies are appropriately integrated into project implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance to CLTS Team Leaders based on agreed frameworks to ensure compliance with Gold Standard protocols during project implementation.
  • Follow up on, facilitate approval of, and ensure the timely submission of CTF registrations.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly, biannual, and annual reports to government authorities.
  • Carry out all MRV-related tasks assigned by the MRV country section.
  • Participate in periodic monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
  • Provide data and information requested by the Data Management Team in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Document and periodically compile success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for communication and media purposes in consultation with the Publications Officer.
  • Work closely with the Country Office Planning, Quality, and Monitoring (PQM) team on monitoring and evaluation activities and social impact studies.
  • Conduct regular data quality assurance activities and ensure the timely submission of quality reports and datasets.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Cluster Coordinator.
