Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee key financial accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and audit activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting external audits, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and delivering timely management and statutory reporting in compliance with IFRS.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reconciliations
- Review and maintain the integrity of the general ledger and trial balance.
- Perform and coordinate trial balance clean-up activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Supervise the preparation and review of monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all reconciling items are investigated and cleared promptly.
- Lead intercompany account reconciliations and coordinate with counterparties to resolve differences.
Accounts Payable & Inventory Controls
- Monitor and follow up on Goods in Transit (GIT) reports, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding transactions.
- Lead Goods Received/Invoice Received (GRIR) account reconciliation and clearing activities.
- Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Accounts Payable teams to resolve unmatched purchase order and invoice transactions.
External Audit
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Coordinate audit schedules, prepare audit documentation, and respond to audit requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure audit findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented.
Financial Reporting
- Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
- Prepare IFRS reporting packages and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform financial ratio analysis and provide insights into business performance and trends.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial data quality and reporting efficiency.
