JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the registration and inspections of Higher Education Institutions to ensure that set standards are met.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Policy and Programmes: Undertakes periodically, the development and implementation of policies and programmes to provide guidance in the operations of Higher Education Institutions.
Registration: Undertakes timely, the registration of Higher Education Institutions to facilitate operations in conformity with regulatory conditions.
Inspections: Conduct regularly inspections of Higher Education Institutions to ensure compliance with minimum criteria for operations.
Research: Undertakes periodically the conduct of research on topical and emerging issues in higher education in order to inform decision making in the regulation of higher education.
Reports: Prepares periodically the state of higher education report, list of registered and established Higher Education Institutions and other reports to facilitate decision making and inform the public.
Budgeting: Prepares timely Unit budget to facilitate acquisition of resources of the Department.
Performance Management: Undertakes timely, preparation of individual work plan to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
