About the Role – Psychosocial Counsellor Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting directly to the Senior Welfare Psychologist, you will deliver expert psychosocial counselling, mental health promotion, crisis intervention, and wellness services.

Your focus will be on improving the psychological, emotional, social, and occupational wellbeing of employees, contractors, their dependents, and the wider Lumwana Mine community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing confidential counselling services individually, with families, couples, and groups across employees, contractors, and community members.
• Conducting psychosocial assessments and formulating tailored intervention plans.
• Facilitating support groups addressing stress, grief, trauma, addiction recovery, and family wellbeing.
• Developing and delivering mental health awareness programs for workplace and community settings.
• Educating on stress management, resilience, emotional wellbeing, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, fatigue management, and healthy lifestyles.
• Offering Psychological First Aid (PFA) following traumatic incidents at work or in the community.
• Participating in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) after accidents, fatalities, disasters, or violence.
• Supporting affected employees, families, and community members during emergencies.
• Managing psychosocial referrals from HR, Medical, Safety departments, supervisors, and community stakeholders.
• Developing and monitoring individualized case management plans.
• Referring clients to specialized internal or external service providers as needed.
• Designing and implementing community psychosocial programs targeting youth, families, women, vulnerable groups, and leaders.
• Monitoring program outcomes using established performance indicators.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on psychosocial services and wellness initiatives.

Candidate Requirements To be considered for this full-time role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate.
• Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling Psychology; a degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Psychosocial Counsellor.
• Registration with the Counselling Association of Zambia (CAZ) or Zambia Counselling Council (ZCC).
