CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) is internationally recognized as a leader in education for
girls, for its child protection policy and practice, and as a voice for girls’ education and women’s
empowerment at the highest levels. Founded in 1993, CAMFED supports young women throughout
their primary and secondary school’s years, into economic training and further education, and onto
leadership, as role models, activists, and philanthropists.

Job Summary
As CAMFED Zimbabwe we are looking into recruiting, professional, and safety-conscious Drivers to
join our On-Call Driver Pool. Successful candidates will be engaged on an as-needed basis to provide
transportation support for staff, visitors, and organizational activities

Key Responsibilities
• Drive staff, partners, stakeholders and visitors to various destinations including field sites,
meetings, and official engagements as assigned
• Plan travel routes and journey requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and timely
transportation while considering road conditions, schedules, and operational needs.
• Ensure and enforce that all passengers adhere to road safety regulations and internal
policies (e.g. travel time and approved vehicle usage guidelines, use of seat belts etc.)
• Carry out routine checks prior to use or travel, and report any damage or mechanical
malfunctions to Line Manager to ensure that assigned vehicle is in proper and safe condition
• Record and maintain mileage logs and any ad hoc issues pertaining to the status of the
vehicles
• Report any vehicle damage, incidents, issues with passengers, change of routes due to bad
weather, security and road condition or any other irregularities promptly to the line
supervisor
• Maintain professional and respectful interactions with staff, community members, and
partners.
• Uphold and promote CAMFED’s Child Protection and Safeguarding standards by complying
with all related policies and procedures, reporting concerns promptly, maintaining
confidentiality, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all
stakeholders and clients.

Safeguarding
• Familiarize and comply with CAMFED’s Child Protection (CP) and Safeguarding policies.
• Promptly report any safeguarding concerns or incidents to the designated focal person
or appropriate authority.
The duties and responsibilities in this role profile are not exhaustive and are subject to change
following the needs of the organization. This job profile is flexible enough to allow us to be adaptive
as an organization.

Person Specification

Essential
• Class 1 or 4 driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Valid defensive driving certificate
• Minimum 5 O’Level’s including English.
• Valid medical certificate including eye and auditory test
• Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively.
• Experience of driving Landcruiser vehicles is required

Desired
• Experience working in rural or remote areas.
• Familiarity with NGO operations and community engagement.
