CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) is internationally recognized as a leader in education for
girls, for its child protection policy and practice, and as a voice for girls’ education and women’s
empowerment at the highest levels. Founded in 1993, CAMFED supports young women throughout
their primary and secondary school’s years, into economic training and further education, and onto
leadership, as role models, activists, and philanthropists.

Job Summary
CAMFED Zimbabwe seeks to establish a pool of reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious parttime Gardeners who will be called upon or engaged as and when there is need. Successful
candidates will provide gardening, grounds maintenance, and general outdoor upkeep support to
ensure CAMFED premises remain clean, safe, tidy, and well maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
• Mow lawns and cut grass regularly to maintain neat, safe, and well-kept outdoor spaces.
• Weed flower beds, lawns, pathways, and other outdoor areas, including uprooting unwanted growth as required.
• Trim edges, bushes, and hedges to maintain the appearance and safety of CAMFED premises.
• Sweep and tidy outdoor areas, pathways, surroundings, and designated workspaces to ensure a clean environment.
• Water lawns, flowers, plants, and other landscaped areas as needed to support healthy growth.
• Plant, maintain, and care for flowers and other garden plants to improve the appearance of the premises.
• Clean toilets and other assigned facilities when required, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Use gardening tools and equipment safely, responsibly, and only for authorized tasks.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or areas requiring attention to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain professional and respectful interactions with staff, visitors, partners, and community members.
• Uphold and promote CAMFED’s Child Protection and Safeguarding standards by complying with all related policies and procedures, reporting concerns promptly, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all stakeholders and clients.

Safeguarding
• Familiarize and comply with CAMFED’s Child Protection (CP) and Safeguarding policies.
• Promptly report any safeguarding concerns or incidents to the designated focal person or appropriate authority.

The duties and responsibilities in this role profile are not exhaustive and are subject to change
following the needs of the organization. This job profile is flexible enough to allow us to be adaptive
as an organization.

Person Specification
Essential
• Minimum 5 O’Level’s.
• Practical gardening, grounds maintenance, or landscaping experience.
• Ability to safely use and care for basic gardening tools and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.

Desired
• Experience working in a professional office or organizational environment.
• Basic knowledge of maintaining flowers, lawns, hedges, and outdoor spaces in a neat and safe condition.
