We are seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager – Genetic Improvement to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive livestock genetic improvement program. The successful candidate will drive breeding strategy, genetic evaluation, selection decisions, and long-term genetic gain while ensuring improved productivity and maintaining local adaptation
Reports to Chief Executive Office.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of livestock breeding strategies.
Develop and manage genetic improvement programs, including selection indices and breeding objectives.
Oversee genetic evaluation, performance recording, and data analysis.
Guide genomic selection and advanced breeding technologies where applicable.
Coordinate breeding activities with reproductive, animal health, and production teams.
Monitor program performance and ensure continuous genetic progress.
Build partnerships with research institutions, government agencies, and development partners.
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary technical teams
