Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) was established by an Act of Parliament No 16 of 1995.

The Botswana Bureau of Standards was formed with the primary objective of formulating standards, with the view to promote standardization and quality assurance in the industry.

It is a parastatal organization governed by a Standards Council with representatives from industry, Government, research institutions and consumer groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Supply and installation of hardware and software.
• Configuration and commissioning services.
• Migration of virtual servers from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Technical support services.
• Technical support, maintenance, knowledge transfer and training for BOBS ICT personnel.

Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and leasing enterprise data centre infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V migration projects.
• Authorisation or partnership with recognised OEMs such as Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, IBM, Microsoft, Veeam or equivalent.
• Availability of local or regional technical support.
• Financial capacity to support long-term leasing arrangements.
• Relevant references for similar projects completed within the last five (5) years.
• Availability of certified technical resources with competencies in: Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, Data Centre Infrastructure, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Cybersecurity, Project Management.
