Our Client, a State-Owned Enterprise, is seeking to recruit a Director Finance. The position is responsible for ensuring the organisation’s financial status and interventions are well-managed, including financial forecasting, budgeting, overseeing audits, and implementing policies to ensure compliance with financial regulations. The role also manages and guides the finance team and provides strategic oversight of ICT systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and implementing financial strategies, policies, and systems aligned with the organisation’s vision and goals.
Advising the CEO and Board on financial performance, investment opportunities, and funding strategies.
Coordinating the preparation of annual budgets in consultation with all departments.
Monitoring budget implementation and ensuring expenditures are within approved limits.
Overseeing the maintenance of accurate financial records and timely preparation of financial statements.
Facilitating external and internal audits and ensuring audit recommendations are implemented.
Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable laws.
Managing the organisation’s cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
Evaluating funding options and managing relationships with financial institutions and partners.
Overseeing tax matters and statutory obligations and relationships with financial institutions.
Providing strategic direction and leadership for the ICT function to ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives.
Overseeing the development and implementation of ICT policies, procedures, and systems that support business efficiency and data security.
Championing the digital transformation agenda by promoting the automation of financial and
administrative processes.
Leading, mentoring, and building capacity within the Finance Department team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Economics is an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications and full membership of accountancy bodies such as CIMA, CIS, CA, CPA, or ACCA is an added advantage.
7-10 years working experience in a finance environment, 5 years of which should be at a Senior Management level.
A clean driver’s license
