Position Overview

We are seeking vigilant and detail‑oriented Control Room Operators to monitor, coordinate, and support fleet operations through advanced fatigue management, collision avoidance, and fleet management systems. The role ensures real‑time oversight, incident escalation, and compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring & Oversight
  • Continuously monitor fatigue management, collision avoidance, and fleet management systems from the control room.
  • Track vehicle movements, driver alerts, and system notifications in real time.
  • Identify anomalies, unsafe behavior, or system alerts and escalate promptly.
  • Incident Response & Emergency Handling
  • Act as the first point of contact for emergencies, coordinating immediate response actions.
  • Escalate incidents to management, technicians, and client representatives as per defined protocols.
  • Maintain accurate incident logs and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare scheduled reports for management on fleet performance, system alerts, and incident trends.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on operational status, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure clear communication with technicians and fleet supervisors for coordinated interventions.
  • Coordination
  • Work closely with technicians to support troubleshooting and system maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with drivers and fleet managers to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain seamless communication channels with management during routine operations and emergencies.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure adherence to Zambia’s Data Protection Act and transport safety regulations in handling system data.
  • Maintain detailed records of alerts, interventions, and communications for audit purposes.
  • Support compliance audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Transport Management, or related field.
  • Experience in fleet monitoring, control room operations, or telematics systems.
  • Familiarity with fatigue detection, collision avoidance, and fleet management technologies.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

  • Proficiency in monitoring software and telematics platforms.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with technicians, drivers, and management.
  • Strong problem‑solving and incident escalation skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • Clear documentation and reporting ability.

 

Working Hours & Conditions

  • Control room operators are required to work in shifts to ensure continuous monitoring coverage.
  • Work is primarily office‑based within the control room, with occasional field coordination.
