POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER
Job Purpose
To plan, supervise, coordinate and manage civil engineering and building projects while ensuring quality, safety, timely completion, and compliance with engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise construction activities.
• Prepare work schedules.
• Monitor project progress.
• Ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Coordinate contractors and subcontractors.
• Manage project resources.
• Conduct site inspections.
• Ensure quality assurance.
• Implement health and safety standards.
• Review engineering designs.
• Prepare project documentation.
• Attend site meetings.
• Resolve technical issues.
• Perform other related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Registration
Registration with the Engineers Board of Malawi (EBM) is an added advantage.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in construction and civil engineering projects.
Technical Skills
• Site supervision, Structural interpretation, Construction management, Quality control, Contract administration, Engineering design review, Project planning, Resource management
Software Proficiency
• AutoCAD
• Civil 3D
• Microsoft Project
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Office Suite
Personal Competencies
• Leadership skills, excellent communication, Problem-solving ability, Decision-making skills, Time management, Strong organizational skills, Ability to work independently. Team player
Salary
Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
