H) is recruiting a Technical Advisor: Strategic Communication for its "SNRL" (Strengthening the National-Regional Linkages in SADC) Project in Gaborone, Botswana.
About the programme: The Southern African Development Community, with the support of the German Government, Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the European Union (EU), implements the SNRL programme, which contributes to accelerating SADC regional integration through the implementation of the SADC legal and strategic framework in Member States.
SNRL provides tailor-made technical, organisational and methodological advice to operational partners, strengthens regional exchange on best practices, and coordinates various modalities of support.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse the needs for technical, methodological and organisational advice for enhanced coordination of the SADC regional integration agenda in Communication and Outreach
- Conceptualise and implement regional integration awareness in all SNRL interventions in close collaboration with GIZ SADC/Botswana
- Coordinate information dissemination and awareness campaigns, key SNRL events and publications
- Media profiling and documentation of the impact of SNRL interventions and benefits of regional integration
- Record and document results of activities and draw up reports
- Draw up media analyses and participate in fora and public hearings
- Plan, coordinate and document meetings, workshops and seminars
- Organise and update project documentation, filing systems and the project library R
Requirements
- Master's degree in Communication, International Relations, Political Science or a related field
- At least 3 years' work experience in communication in Southern Africa
- Excellent understanding of the political, economic and social dynamics in SADCFamiliarity with GIZ planning, implementation and reporting procedures is an asset
- Familiarity with capacity development approaches and GIZ technical cooperation approaches is an asset
- English proficiency required; knowledge of German, French and/or Portuguese is an advantage
- Experience working with a diverse team; result-driven and resource-oriented H
