Senior Planning Engineer-Road

Senior Planning Engineer oversees all planning, scheduling, and progress control activities for major road infrastructure projects. This role ensures that project timelines, resources, and cost targets are achieved through robust planning methodologies, proactive monitoring, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The engineer will act as the planning lead, providing strategic insights, early warnings, and solutions to keep the project on track.

• Develop and maintain the project baseline schedule using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project scope, contract requirements, and construction methodology.
• Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and integrate engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Monitor project progress through regular updates, variance analysis, and performance reporting (EVMS).
• Identify schedule risks and delays, propose mitigation strategies, and support the project team in implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to gather accurate data for schedule updates.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal management and clients.
• Review subcontractor schedules for compliance and integration into the master schedule.
• Support claims and extension-of-time (EOT) submissions by providing delay analysis (Time Impact Analysis, Window Analysis).
• Ensure planning compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and industry best practices.
• Participate in progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams, presenting schedule status and critical issues.
• Forecast resource requirements (manpower, equipment, materials) and highlight potential shortages or over-allocations.
• Maintain planning documentation, including logs, narratives, and schedule backup files.
