About the Role Reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, the Senior Exploration Geologist will lead desktop and field-based evaluations, designing and implementing exploration programs tailored to Barrick’s strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities Champion Barrick’s safety culture by actively promoting safety programs and ensuring compliance among team members.

Plan, supervise, and execute exploration field activities including drilling, trenching, mapping, geophysics, and geochemistry. Compile, clean, and analyze geological data to generate and assess exploration targets.

Collaborate closely with technical teams to deliver Barrick’s exploration strategy and growth ambitions. Lead geological best practices to develop robust regional, camp, and target-scale geological models, incorporating lithology, stratigraphy, structure, alteration, and mineralization data.

Support growth initiatives through due diligence reviews of competitor projects, considering technical, financial, and legislative factors. Work cross-functionally with resources, mining, social, and legal departments to ensure integrated project delivery.

Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports to senior management. Mentor and develop exploration skills within the predominantly local geological team.

Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures and monitor QA/QC processes to maintain data integrity. Be prepared for extensive travel to field offices and project sites on a rotational basis.

Qualifications and Experience Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate. Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience from a recognized institution.

Proficiency in GIS and 3D geological modeling software; experience with ArcGIS, Leapfrog Geo, Micromine, and ioGAS is advantageous. Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in greenfield or brownfield exploration, preferably with exposure to sedimentary-hosted copper deposits in the Central African Copperbelt.

Membership in a professional geoscience organization is required. Openness to continuous training and professional development.

Strong understanding of mineralization models and geological processes. Advanced degrees (MSc or PhD) and expertise in geoscientific data integration are considered assets.
