Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Aircraft Operator Security Program AOSP.
  • Lead intelligence gathering, and the investigation of security incidents.
  • Conduct pre-employment security vetting, personnel background checks, and maintain personnel security records in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Establish and maintain aviation security training programs, including aircraft search procedures, emergency response, and safeguarding of aircraft and passengers, while maintaining training records.
  • Coordinate internal and external security audits, quality assurance activities, and maintain security reports, investigation records, committee minutes, and audit documentation.
  • Promote security awareness and foster a strong security culture across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with the Aviation Security Program and implement changes arising from regulatory updates, inspections, and security assessments.
  • Establish and maintain an effective security command structure and response capability.
  • Liaise effectively with government authorities, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement enhanced security measures during periods of elevated threat.
  • Provide expert security advice and guidance to senior management and line managers on all aviation security matters.
  • Prepare and manage the aviation security operations budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Security, Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight 8 years’ progressive experience in aviation security management or a closely related security role, with demonstrable leadership responsibility.
  • Relevant professional training in aviation security, risk management, incident investigation, and emergency response.
  • Certification as an AVSEC Instructor will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Knowledge of national and international aviation security regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in English.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, and professionalism.
