Job Details

Job Purpose

  • To effectively and efficiently coordinate all Import and Export shipment customs clearance and handling at various ports, ICDs Inland Container Depots, or airports. To professionally support logistics functions in compliance with client, customer, and all regulatory authority requirements, and ensure compliance with local legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with customs and local authority requirements for imports/exports Air & Ocean, including document submission, verification services, customs inspections, permit submissions, and collection of cargo from airport or port.
  • Ensure 100% compliance of shipment documents as per regulatory requirements and local legislation.
  • Assist with framing draft Customs Entries for quality check by the customs Entry Clerk prior to submission.

Operational Functions

  • Collect documents from all handling sheds at the ports and/or airports.
  • Capture IDFs, Imports, and Exports draft entries in the customs system for approval prior to submission.
  • Follow up on customs approval and releases of Import and Export entries.
  • Manage parcels, documents, and letters as per delivery instructions, ensuring signatures are obtained.
  • Dispatch all internal and external import and export documentation within scheduled timelines.
  • Engage with inspection authorities to ensure timely inspection.
  • Liaise with all regulatory authorities at the ports, ICDs, or airports to ensure expedited shipment clearance and release.
  • Proactively communicate with the operations team regarding shipment progress, status, delays, inspections, collections, and deliveries.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with Port Authorities, Airport Authorities, Handling Agents, and ICDs up to final release.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure proper handling and accountability of all import and export documents.
  • Ensure full alignment and compliance with import/export SOPs.
  • Maintain allocated import/export records and documents as per approved SOPs.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Education

  • Certificate in Customs Administration.
  • Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Clearing and Forwarding.

Requirements

  • Valid Driving License or Motorcycle License.
