Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the
following post that have arisen in the University:
DEPARTMENT: ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING SERVICE
PORTER\WAITER 2 (POST) FIXED TERM
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must at least have an earned 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language,
National certificate in food and Beverages or Tourism and Hospitality Management
or equivalent, National diploma in the related field will be an added advantage,
Class two in the related trade will be an added advantage, at least (2) years proven
history in Catering operations, well-groomed and hygiene conscious.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Catering Services Supervisor, the incumbent will among other things
Providing the perfect service to every customer, (student, staff or guest)
Ensuring the customer feels important and welcome in the dining halls.
Ensuring hot food is hot and cold food is cold.
Presenting menu, answering questions and making suggestions regarding food and other services.
Serving all customers, i.e. students, staff and guests, in an accommodating manner.
Maintaining a clean and organised service area.
Complying with health and hygienic policies and procedures.
Practicing laid down hand over and take over procedures.
Locking all exit and entrance points before knock off time.
Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
