Job Role
- The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs to restore physical function, mobility, and overall well-being of patients. The role involves working with individuals recovering from injury, surgery, or chronic conditions, and providing preventive care to promote healthy movement. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and skilled in therapeutic techniques, with strong communication abilities to support patient recovery and education.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to patients.
- Support recovery and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Promote preventive care and patient education on physical health.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Enhance patient mobility, independence, and quality of life.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct physical examinations and functional assessments.
- Diagnose movement dysfunctions and recommend treatment plans.
- Document patient history and progress accurately.
Treatment & Rehabilitation
- Develop individualized therapy programs.
- Administer manual therapy, exercise regimens, and electrotherapy.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Patient Education & Preventive Care
- Educate patients on posture, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
- Provide guidance on home exercise programs.
- Support lifestyle modifications to improve long-term health outcomes.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews.
- Maintain clear communication with patients and caregivers.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
- Prepare progress reports and discharge summaries.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and ethical standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Valid registration with relevant professional body e.g., Physiotherapy Council.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ clinical experience in physiotherapy practice.
- Experience in hospital, rehabilitation, or outpatient settings preferred.
