Purpose of the Job: To oversee the Bank’s adherence to all non-AML prudential regulations, consumer protection laws, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards. The role ensures that the Bank operates within the legal framework set by the NBE and leads the integration of sustainability principles into the Bank’s business strategy and lending operations.

Generic Functions:

• Develop, review and implement policies & procedures, plan /budget of the division;

• Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct, culture, and ascertain that subordinates abide by same

• Cultivate a working environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and transparency among staffs

• Provide services as per the service level agreement, follow- up & monitor subordinates to do the same

• Mentor and coach subordinates towards effective career development

• Adhere to internal control system and risk management program of the Bank

Specific Functions:

• Monitor the Bank’s daily compliance with NBE prudential directives (including Liquidity coverage, Reserve Requirements, Single Borrower Limits, and Foreign Exchange exposure) and coordinate with Finance/Risk to rectify any breaches immediately

• Lead the development and implementation of the Bank’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), ensuring alignment with IFC Performance Standards and national environmental laws

• Conduct immediate gap analysis whenever new proclamations, directives, or circulars are issued by the government, and disseminate clear compliance instructions to all relevant business units

• Oversee the Bank’s Consumer Protection Framework, handling the escalation of complex customer grievances related to regulatory rights, transparency, and fair treatment
