EPay Mobile Money invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals to fill the position of Human Resources Manager. The role is based at the Head Office in Blantyre.
Position: Human Resources Manager
Location: Head Office – Blantyre
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Purpose
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for leading and managing all HR functions for Epay Mobile Money to support organizational effectiveness and growth. The role ensures strong HR governance, talent development, employee engagement, and compliance with labor laws while acting as a strategic partner to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Advise senior management on workforce planning, structure, and people strategy
- Lead organizational development and change management initiatives
Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies
- Manage performance management systems and appraisal processes
- Identify training needs and implement learning & development programs
- Support succession planning and leadership development
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes
- Promote a positive workplace culture and high employee engagement
- Ensure fair, consistent, and transparent HR practices
HR Operations & Policies
- Develop, review, and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Oversee HR records, contracts, payroll coordination, and benefits administration
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee data
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices
- Manage audits, inspections, and statutory requirements
- Mitigate HR-related risks and ensure ethical workplace practices
Performance, Rewards & Payroll Support
- Support compensation structures, salary reviews, and incentives
- Work with finance on payroll accuracy and compliance
- Benchmark roles and remuneration against market standards
Team Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and mentor HR staff
- Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and metrics for management decision-making
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
- He or She should be above 30 years of age
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in operations, with demonstrable exposure to human resources management ideally.
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with local labour law.
- Experienced people manager with a track record of building high-performing teams, delivering results through others, and establishing strong management systems and processes.
- Collaborative management style with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where success requires adaptability and a significant degree of learning by doing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
