About the Junior Mechanical Engineer Role As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems within an industrial mining setting.
You will collaborate closely with senior engineers to troubleshoot equipment issues and contribute to cost-effective solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This full-time position demands hands-on involvement in maintenance and production processes, ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained throughout.
Key Responsibilities for Junior Mechanical Engineer Jobs in Solwezi Assist in the design and upkeep of mechanical systems and conduct thorough site inspections. Analyze equipment failures and collect performance data on critical production machinery to identify improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and promote a safe working environment for all employees. Provide engineering support for installation, maintenance, and operation of various projects, maintaining network safety, efficiency, and integrity.
Manage technical and financial aspects of small-scale projects using effective project management techniques from start to finish. Contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering standards, specifications, and documentation related to equipment replacement and refurbishment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate root causes of equipment failures and incidents, addressing both planned and unplanned events. Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support operational success.
Qualifications and Skills Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is required. Proficiency in PC literacy and strong command of English, both verbal and written.
Ability to deliver results in a multicultural environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
