The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit a Design and Project Lead for its Engineering Department’s Design and Project unit based at Geoffroy Road, Bambous.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage assigned portfolios of design and
engineering projects from initiation to closure.
· Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, budget, schedule, quality standards and departmental procedures.
· Supervise, plan, allocate and oversee the work of design & Project staff assigned to the project portfolio.
· Provide technical insights in engineering design, drawings, calculations, layouts, process design and technical analyses.
· Review, verify and validate technical drawings, designs, reports and project documents within delegated authority.
· Prepare and recommend project scopes, budget estimates, feasibility studies, specifications and project methodologies.
· Coordinate with internal clients, end-users, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders throughout project execution.
· Manage project planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting and close-out activities.
· Monitor project costs, schedules, scope, risks, quality and resources, and escalate deviations where required.
· Review job costings, claims, invoices, contracts and contractor appointments in line with concerned department.
· Ensure timely project reporting, KPI tracking, dashboard updates, ERP job opening/monitoring/closure and post-mortem analysis.
· Support the Design and Project Manager in departmental planning, CAPEX/OPEX budget preparation, strategy and operational improvements.
· Coach, guide and develop team members to strengthen technical capability, engagement and productivity.
· Promote innovation, continuous improvement and the use of appropriate design/project management tools and techniques.
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, risk assessments, toolbox talks and safe working practices.
Candidate Profile
· Bachelor in Engineering (BEng) Mechanical or Mechatronics or equivalent
· At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position
· Registered Professional Engineer and/or a Master's Degree in Engineering / Project Management / PMP would be an advantage
· Knowledge of the Stone Crushing and Block-Making Industry
· Engineering Design Skills: Mechanical, Structural, Layout and Process
· Project Management Skills (Any type of Project, i.e. Mechanical & Non-Mechanical)
· Knowledge and Knowhow in use of Design Software and Tools
· Customer Service Approach
· Problem-Solving Attitudes and Skills
· Project Costing and Budgeting
· Problem and Conflict Handling
· Supervision, Coaching and Work Allocation for a Team
