The Process Plant Coordinator reports directly to the Superintendent and acts as the equipment owner for the process plant and classification operations, managing equipment from the crushed ore stockpile through to the flotation surge tanks.

The coordinator is responsible for implementing operating procedures, systems, and processes to maximise production efficiency while minimising costs and ensuring operational sustainability. This role demands a strong focus on daily and weekly execution and continuous optimisation of plant performance.

Key Responsibilities for Process Plant Coordinator Jobs in Kalumbila Take legal accountability under Zambian Mining Regulations for equipment from stockpile to flotation surge tanks, including ancillary equipment and utilities.

Ensure compliance with site Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (SHEC) standards and investigate equipment-related safety and environmental incidents. Lead plant housekeeping efforts and prioritise tasks to maintain operational excellence.

Consistently exceed key performance indicators such as plant availability, utilisation, milling, flotation, crushing throughput, and product quality. Oversee day-to-day plant operations to optimise utilisation and ensure adherence to operating procedures and strategies.

Monitor, report, and control plant equipment status, performance indicators, and operational shortfalls. Issue daily operating instructions to shift teams regarding key equipment and operational parameters.

Collaborate with maintenance, planning, engineering, and operations teams to diagnose defects, implement corrective actions, and develop maintenance plans. Coach and mentor shift supervisors, control room operators, and field personnel to maintain high operational standards.

Contribute to annual operations and production budgets and forecast efforts. Identify and justify capital improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 7 years’ direct experience in operational roles within milling circuits. At least 5 years’ supervisory experience in large, complex base metals processing plants, preferably with copper and gold circuits.

Grade 12 certificate with qualifications certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). Strong understanding of production and maintenance strategies for continuous mineral processing plants.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyse metallurgical and equipment data. Proven ability to identify equipment bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventative measures.

Commitment to SHEC performance and a personal sense of equipment ownership and accountability. Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and fluency in English.
